I pay Dhs100 a month for the watchman to lovingly grind sand into the paintwork, but occasionally go for the full Monty, too.

My local Emarat has the added attraction of an insane young national who comes around and bangs on the fibreglass seats the staff use by the pumps. Everyone just ignores him, but he seems happy enough in his world…
