The great Dubai brunch tradition made way for the Christmas edition today and the Grosvenor House went to town today. The first thing to notice was the abundance of staff – I lost count at thirty and the service was excellent. They were very quick to bring a glass of fizzy festive cheer on arrival.
The amount of food on offering was bewildering – the dedicated Oyster bar, or the endless sashami and sushi made good choices for starters. It was a really nice afternoon and there was even a visit from Santa Claus to give some lucky children gifts. Still I would have traded it in a Dubai minute to be with my nephews in Perth. However, by the power of the internet, it seems that my oldest nephew only had time for presents:
In time honored Christmas tradition I have settled in for the evening with some movies – seems odd not to be watching Noels Christmas Cracker or The Queen’s speech this year.
